How do I start my Discovery Trip?
After purchasing a trip on our website or through partners like TripAdvisor/Viator, you’ll receive an email and text message with your activation code. Simply download the app, enter your code, and your trip will begin.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. An active internet connection is required to load maps, questions, and media during the trip.
Do I need GPS enabled?
Yes. GPS is essential to determine your location and unlock events at the right spots in the city. Make sure location services are turned on for the app.
Can I share my activation code with friends or family?
Each code can only be activated once. If you’re playing with a group, we recommend gathering around one phone. If everyone wants to play individually, each person will need their own code.
How long is my activation code valid?
Your code remains valid until you start the trip. It is totally possible to play your trip on another day than you booked.
Can I pause the trip and continue later?
Yes. You can pause at any time and continue later. If you close the app, just reopen it and you will be notified that you can continue your trip.
What happens if my battery runs out?
Make sure your phone is charged before starting. We recommend bringing a power bank, especially if you take lots of pictures or play with GPS on all day.
How many people can join a trip?
There’s no limit to how many people can join you in real life. Many travelers enjoy playing in small groups (2–6 people) using one device as you will only have one phone that can play the trip. We advice you to get more codes if you want to play with larger groups.
What if I don’t receive my activation code?
Check your spam folder in email and check your text messages. If you still don’t see it, please contact our support team (details in your purchase confirmation), and we’ll resend your code.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes! The routes are family-friendly, but walking distances and riddle difficulty may vary per city.
Do I need to book a specific time?
No. Once you have your activation code, you can start whenever you want. Just make sure to check local opening times if you plan to visit museums or attractions along the way.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Refunds depend on the platform where you purchased (website, TripAdvisor, or Viator). Please check their refund policy.
